We at Alternative Trades Wear Inc. would like you to be happy with your order. Please read the following useful information on our policies & guidelines to help you better understand the process of your custom order.
Turnaround
Standard turnaround is 2-3 weeks from the time we have order approval, payment terms and artwork. Some printing styles and add-on services will add to the standard turnaround time. If you have a deadline for your order, please inform us when placing your order. A rush charge of $50 per order will apply to orders needing quicker turnarounds of 2 weeks or less. Alternative Trades Wear Inc. will not be responsible for missing deadlines because of unapproved or late approval of artwork, supplier issues because of logistics, acts of God, and shipping errors on behalf of a shipping carrier. If we expect or foresee any problems coming, we’ll be sure to let you know and work with you to rectify it as best as we can.
Deadlines & Rush Orders
If you have a specific deadline for your order which falls inside our standard turnaround, the only way to ensure your order completed in time is by paying a rush fee. Rush orders, any order needed in 2 weeks or less, are subject to a $50 rush fee. We cannot guarantee delivery of rush orders on a specified date if the artwork and mockup are not approved within a certain time frame. Rush time frames are based on our production schedule and do not include shipping time for orders not destined for Edmonton, Alberta where delivery will be made day of. Please consider the shipping time when submitting a rush order. Alternative Trades Wear Inc. will not be responsible for shipping issues once it leaves our warehouse. Rush orders must be paid for in full when placing the order.
Out of Stock Items
Alternative Trades Wear Inc. will not be responsible for items and apparel that are out of stock. We do our best to provide an accurate inventory at the time requested. Should items become out of stock, we will do our best to find a replacement and get it approved by you before using it.
Pricing
Alternative Trades Wear Inc. reserves the right to change pricing at any time. Any previously quoted orders are still valid.
There are a few additional costs that will be added to your order other than screen-printing, design time and apparel. Additional print services, art and special treatments such as mandatory setup charges, metallic inks, film out-put (for all new artwork) and over-sized prints will be reflected on your invoice. Please ask us if your project will utilize any additional charges so that there are no surprises on your invoice. Alternative Trades wear Inc. will inform you of any additional charges that may arise when working on your project.
Minimums
For the most cost effective pricing, we encourage all apparel orders to consist of a minimum of 12-25 pieces per style of apparel and art work. The higher the quantity, the better the pricing. This is due to the labour and set-up variables in the screen printing industry.
Methods of Payment
All orders must have a 50% down payment in order to be considered a submitted custom order and begin your turnaround. We accept cash, cheques (no personal cheques), PayPal, email transfers and any credit card such as Visa, Mastercard or American Express via PayPal. The order balance is due upon pickup. Any order that is 21 days or more late on payment will incur interest of 5% per month dating back to the invoice date. A $50 late fee will also be added to the invoice.
Your credit card will be charged when you place or complete your order. If we are not able to fulfill your order for any reason your credit card will be refunded. There is a $50 charge for NSF cheques. The subsequent payment must be made with cash, direct transfer or Paypal. Direct transfers through email can be sent to alternativetradeswear@gmail.com

Artwork Creation & Ownership
All artwork created by Alternative Trades Wear Co. is the sole property of Alternative Trades Wear Co. If you have us create artwork for you, you are paying for the labor and thought to produce the artwork, not the ownership and rights of the artwork. Rights to the artwork can be purchased in addition to the creation fees.
Any artwork you submit to us that we are not creating, only printing, is owned by you or it’s rightful owner, not Alternative Trades Wear Inc. We will not reproduce your artwork, trademarked or not, without your consent. The file must be in a ready to print format with no alterations needed, such as using an Adobe Illustrator file.
Art Preparation & Design
We accept vector artwork in Adobe Illustrator CS5 or lower for any art needed to be set-up and high Resolution JPEGs or other extensions such as PNG and TIFFs to be used (300dpi at actual size is optimal). Art not supplied in print ready format, or new art creation is needed, is subject to be billed at our current rate of $50/hour. We will not be responsible for colour or spelling errors and otherwise in approved artwork. If you have any questions on supplied artwork, or what can or cannot be used, please contact us prior to us starting a project. We will also notify you know if a specific format or file cannot be used for your project.
Art Approval
All orders will receive a mockup of the art and apparel via email for approval. Changes to the artwork after approving the mockup could increase turnaround times. Please note that as we do our best to display proper colours, sizes of art, proportions of art in relation to apparel and the apparel itself, we cannot guarantee that they will match actual printing. This is due to a number of variables such as screen resolution, colour mixing, colour of garment from the supplier ect.
Art & Image Sizes & Placement
All shirt sizes in an order will have the same image/art size unless otherwise requested. Different image/art sizes being printed on different shirt sizes will be treated and priced as a new order. For example, a 10” x 10” art printed on a small shirt will look bigger in comparison to the same art printed on an extra large. If you want the art to be bigger on the extra large shirts, that will be considered new art since the screen-printing process is repeated.
We will do everything we can to ensure images are placed consistently on all garments in a run. However, small variations should be expected. 0.5” to 1” in either direction should be considered acceptable. Images that need to be placed near the collar on the back of the shirt could have small ink coverage inconsistencies if the image is printed over the tag.
Seam, Collar & Zipper Printing
Any printing on or over any seams or zippers is subject to printing inconsistencies and/or distortion. These are all considered acceptable goods and will not be considered misprints. Additional costs may apply if application is labour intensive.
Art & Apparel Mock Ups & Visual Samples
You will receive a digital visual mockup of what your apparel could look like post-production before we proceed with your order. If artwork needs to be changed, it will be subject to normal art charges. Please note that numerous or complex changes could affect your due date. The visual mockups are intended to be used as an approximate example. Although we do our best, colours, proportion of artwork in relation to garment, size of art and colour of garment may not look exactly as received. Physical printed samples cannot be provided.
Ink Colours & Pantone Matching
Because of the nature of screen printing inks, we cannot guarantee Pantone colours. We cannot guarantee ink colours based on visual mockups alone. We recommend checking the colours given against a Pantone book. Monitors can vary significantly from one computer to the next so please check a Pantone book or provide us with a specific Pantone color for color accuracy. Printed colours can be a shade or two off, but in most cases, they are not noticeable.
Care Instructions & Wash Downs
In order to ensure image longevity and image vibrancy, we recommend turning the garment inside out and machine wash cold, tumble dry low for all prints.. All goods should be washed before wearing.
Before the garment is washed, it is completely normal to feel slight discharge ink on the shirt. Once the shirt is washed for its first time, this feeling generally goes away. If specialty or high opacity inks are requested, we cannot guarantee a no-hand feel. We will not be responsible for fading or weathering of goods. We print with the highest quality products and equipment available and take great pride in our quality of work and stand behind every piece printed. That being said, very small amounts of wash down on ink colors are expected with each additional wash since fabric will fade with additional washings.
Manufacturer Defects
Alternative Trades Wear Inc. is not responsible for manufacturer defects such as color inconsistencies, mislabeled sizes, label inconsistencies and garment defects. We do our best to inspect the garments as they are printed but we cannot guarantee each garment as these are constructed out of our control. Inspect your item and bring to our attention any defects found on garment within 7 days. We will gladly refund or exchange any unworn item.
Guarantee
Alternative Trades Wear Inc. stands behind our work. If for any reason we made a mistake printing your order and it is not what was agreed upon and falls outside of these terms & conditions, we will gladly reprint your order. We do not offer refunds.
Shipping
Most shipments are shipped via Canada Post. We will send you a tracking number shortly after we ship. Alternative Trades Wear Co. will not be responsible for shipping transit errors for any reason such as postal errors made by Canada Post, weather, strikes or otherwise. Shipping time is not included in our turnaround times. Alternative Trades Wear Inc. assumes no responsibility for goods once they have left our warehouse.
Checking Your Order
Please check your order and notify us of any problems within 72 hours of delivery. We will not be responsible for errors on orders after 72 hours.
Cancelling Your Custom Order
Canceled orders prior to printing are subject to a 15% restocking fee (based on order value) plus any additional fees incurred. Once shirts have been printed, cancellations will not be accepted.
Online Exchanges and Returns
-Please note that we can only exchange items for a different size or color if they are available. If a model, size or color is unavailable an online credit will be issued.
-We offer an exchange, on all unworn garments returned within 30 days.
-Returns are usually processed within 48 hours of being received. However, please note that during busy periods such as seasonal or promotional sales, as well as Christmas and New Years, processing may take longer.
-To return an item, please enclose the order number within the parcel being returned.
-We recommend that you return your item(s) back to us by using a secure, insured and tracked delivery service (such as Canada post or equivalent). Alternative Trades Wear is not responsible for any items not received or lost.
-All refunds will be made via the original method of payment.
-Merchandise that has been worn, used, or altered will not be accepted for return or exchange.
-If your clothing item is unworn, you may exchange your clothing item for a different size or color. You will not be subject to a restocking fee in this case, but you still will have to pay return shipping.
-Postage will not be refunded unless the goods are faulty or incorrect by Alternative Trades Wear, otherwise, customers will be responsible for all shipping costs.
-In the unlikely event you receive an incorrect or faulty item from us, we will refund any return postage costs incurred. A member of our team will contact you in order to arrange this. We cannot, however, be responsible for, or comment on any such case until the item has been returned, assessed by our Team and confirmed as faulty.
